Wow! Our October Calendar is packed with great new classes and events! We look forward to the busy month ahead and hope that you can join us!

We are happy to welcome a new instructor at Precious Memories and hope that you will join Jacquie for some of her exciting new classes! We are also offering a new daytime slot for those who are looking for something to do during the week as well as a new kid's class geared towards those aged 7 and up!

October 15-17th is the 3rd annual BC Creative Expo and this year it is right in our own backyard! It is being held at the new Langley Event Center. See below for more details regarding this fun weekend!

November 7th & 8th we are thrilled to welcome back our friend Julie Ebersole for a weekend of action packed Holiday Classes!

NEW INSTRUCTOR: JACQUIE LOISELLE
Jacquie has been scrapbooking for close to ten years and card making for a couple. She joins our teaching staff Copic Certified Logo

in October and is super excited to share her ideas with you. She's become somewhat addicted to stamping and utilizing her Copic Markers. She recently became a Copic Certified Designer and loves to help others learn about the amazing results you can get using the Copics. She also loves creating chipboard albums and anything to do with Disney!

Jacquie is an Office Manager by day but can never wait to get home to her in-house design studio. You have probably seen her around Precious Memories or maybe while attending a class. We hope you'll join Jacquie for some exciting new classes and are thrilled to welcome her to our team!

12 Days of Christmas.....Cards! NEW!

I don't know about you, but I need to get my Christmas cards done because before you know it, December will be here! Together we will be making 12 cute, fun and fresh cards for holiday gift-giving and well-wishing. You will get a sack full of product from the My Mind's Eye Colorful Christmas line of papers and chipboard shapes that will provide you with not only enough product to make 12 cards, but you will have a bunch left over to make a few more!

You will be supplied with everything you need to assemble the cards, but if you wish to bring your own cutter and a scor-pal you can!

Copic Workshop: Level I

Consider this your first introduction to

everything Copic. If you

find yourself

wondering what papers to use, what ink, what end to use? Then this class is the first logical step. This class is even for those who aren't sure about these markers, and maybe just want to try them out! You will use the store's markers to get some hands-on experience. You will colour some stamped images for you to take home and use on cards, but note that you will not be making any cards in this class; this is all about the process! All Supplies Included.

Copic Workshop: Level II

This is the second level of classes

dedicated to

learning all about

Copic markers. If you've taken Copic I then you are ready for this class, OR if you feel like you have a handle on paper and ink selection, as well as general care for your markers (refilling, nibs etc) then you will feel at home in this class. We will start to "play" a little more in this class by learning some advanced techniques like direct-to-rubber stamping, playing with the blender solution, airbrushing and so on with the store's markers. Like the Level I Workshop, you will not make cards, but will hone your colouring skills with some images to take home and use on cards later! All Supplies Included.

Fun and Frosty Cards NEW!

The new American Crafts Merrymint line combines striking colours and a little foil and glitter for some sparkle on these Christmas cards! We'll also be using stamps that came with this line and some products that are so easy, you'll want to use them again and again. Happiness Is... NEW!

Quick and Easy Christmas Cards: 2nd Edition NEW!!

Those of you that took the September Christmas Quick and Easy have the opportunity to take this new class and bring your stamps back to get some more use out of them! We'll be taking a new set of papers and matching cardstock to create another set of 6 Christmas cards. Make sure to bring that great set of Christmas Creative Cafe (Hampton Art) acrylic sentiment stamps that you used in the September class! You'll be able to play with some fun supplies like glitter, Stickles, embossing and flocking too! All Supplies Included.

Read Between the Lines: Copic Colouring NEW!

It is so easy to make a scene with Copic Multiliner pens, your stamps, Copic Markers, and a little imagination. Learn how to take a simple line-art stamp to the next level by drawing with Copic Multiliner pens that are safe to use with Copic markers (ie. they won't run or bleed). There are so many ways to use the multiliner pens, and I know you will love them by the end of the class, that's why you get one FREE when you sign up for the class! Feel free to bring your own Copic markers to the class - it means less sharing/waiting - but it is not necessary. Having Copic marker experience is recommended, however.

Scrapbooking Basics: The "How To" Course NEWLY DESIGNED!

Do you have loads of supplies at home, and have NO idea how to use them? Have you bought some accessories and tools, but aren't sure you're using them right, or getting the most use out of them? OR, are you an absolute beginner and just want to jump in and get started? Well then, this class is for all of you! I will be at your disposal to help you put a layout together over the span of 2 hours, as well as help you with any questions or curiosities you might have along the way. Included in the Class fee is the paper you will require for the layout (1 piece of designer paper, and two 12x12 solid cardstock), and all supplies (glue, trimmers, scissors etc), and of course ME, who will be your personal shopper and coach every step of the way! Don't know how to use ribbon? Stickers? Chipboard? Die Cuts? We will incorporate those mysteries into your layout. An added bonus: you will be able to shop for items in the store as you need them for your layout using your class discount! Please bring photos.

Spooktacular Halloween NEW!

We'll be scaring up some fun as we work on this technique based double page layout. Just a few of the great techniques here are stamping and embossing, piercing, creating your own embellishments, and distressing. We'll also be playing with glitter, die cuts, punches, the Slice Machine, and so much more! Layout design and sketches will also be discussed since this layout is based on a sketch from the fabulous Jana Eubank (www.frommyfeatherednest.blogspot.com). Once upon a time, I had no idea rubber stamps existed. Chuckle! Prior to staying home full-time with my children, and simultaneously becoming addicted to art-stamping, I was a high school Spanish teacher.
My cousin had always sent these beautiful hand-made cards. "I stamped it myself," she would say. I would look at them, marvel, and scratch my head. I didn't "get it". Then, one day, over 14 years ago, I walked into a stationary store and spotted some stamps. Hmmmm. On the racks were RubberStampMadness Magazines. Hmmmmmm. Yes, yes, I am a bit slow, but as I flipped through the magazines and kept looking at the stamps, I finally "got it"--got what my cousin meant!

Evidently, there was an underground movement of people--everyday people like myself--who were all making cards and whatnot with stamps--RUBBER STAMPS!!!

For 10 years, I demonstrated and taught for a direct-sales stamp company, and during that time, and since, I have been fortunate to have many of my designs and several articles appear in popular trade publications, including Paper Crafts, Stamp It, Scrap & Stamp Arts, Stampington's Take Ten and Stamper's Sampler, Card Maker, Gift Maker (formerly Paper Works), and Cards magazines.

After 3 years as the Design Team Coordinator for Splitcoaststampers.com, the world's largest online stamping
community, I stepped down in March 2008 to accept a full-time position at A Muse Artstamps (amuseartstamps.com), a wondermous rubber stamp company based out of Seattle, WA, where I had been Lead Instructor and Senior Designer for the last 5 years. Today, I am thankful to serve as the company's Creative Teams Director.

I am tickled to meet so many people, not only through the classes I teach, but around the globe, through the world-wide web, who are just as crazy about the art of rubber stamping as I am--and cards are still my favorite thing to create!

Oh, and I do love a good appletini every now and then . . . *wink!*
